Their primary survey enables them to see the space available, they will then listen to your own ideas and expand on what can work in your loft.
They will also provide Velux© Room Windows, Hand-made Staircases, Planning consent where necessary, all types of flooring, Electricity points and Lighting, Loft hatches and plastering.
Planning consent is taken care of if necessary as Move-Up is well versed in current building regulations and we will arrange for these to be approved at every step of the way by an official quality control monitor.
A Typical Move-Up loft Conversion would take around 7 weeks for completion once they are on site. This does not include any time required for planning approval. Initially in the first couple of weeks the scaffolding will be erected, steel RSJ's are delivered and fitted along with the new floor joists. A Dormer can then be erected and made watertight. After this during the 4th and 5th weeks new roof tiles can be hung on the dormer, insulation and plaster boards can be put in place and the new electrical wiring can be completed. The new staircase is then ready to be installed followed by any plastering work which needs to take place. By the 7th week the final trimmings like the skirting boards and light switches can be done.
Further details including a downloadble pdf about the loft conversion process which they undertake when carrying out a loft conversion can be found on their website.
